Comparing Mobility Scooters in Dubai: Prices, Range and Weight Limits

Comparing Mobility Scooters in Dubai

Some people need a scooter that disappears into a car boot. Others want something sturdy enough for park paths and long days outside. Each type of mobility scooter leans one way or the other. That’s why it helps to choose the type before you look at models.

At Dubai Mobility, we group our range into three types: travel, folding and all-terrain. Below, you’ll find what each type does well, which models sit in it and where the trade-offs are. If you’d rather try one before you commit, renting starts at AED 180 a day.

Travel Scooters

Travel scooters are built for people who are often in and out of the car. Each one splits into lighter pieces for the car boot, then goes back together when you arrive. They suit shopping trips, appointments and sightseeing. Five are in stock at the moment.

The Equinox Travel comes apart into five pieces without tools, and none weighs more than 15 kg. It carries users up to 136 kg, reaches 8 km/h and covers up to 15 km. A swivel seat and anti-tip wheels come as standard.

Three Pride models share the Go-Go Elite Traveller name. The standard version has a 16 kg heaviest piece and comes in seven colours. The Sport splits into four pieces, takes users up to 147 kg and adds front and rear LEDs. The LX keeps its heaviest piece to 15.2 kg, with a tiller you can steer with either hand.

The Pride Revo 2 adds front and rear suspension and 9-inch tyres for a smoother ride. It still comes apart for the car. Under-seat storage, a front basket and a USB port are included. It covers up to 22 km on a charge.

Range is the compromise with travel scooters. Where it’s listed, it runs from 15 km to 24 km per charge, which suits shorter outings. Every model in this group charges on or off the scooter, so the battery can come indoors. Check weight limits closely, as the LX takes up to 125 kg. Ask the team to confirm the Revo 2’s limit.

Folding Scooters

Folding scooters are all about speed. Instead of dismantling, you fold the whole scooter in one go. The Equinox Smart is the folding model in stock right now, and it weighs 23.5 kg. A handle built into the frame lets you lift it straight after folding.

Folded, it measures 40 x 50 x 73 cm, small enough for a car boot, taxi or apartment hallway. Two removable lithium batteries give up to 20 km. One can charge while the other keeps you moving. Top speed is 7 km/h, and it handles slopes up to 8 degrees.

Small touches make daily use easier. It has solid puncture-free tyres, rear suspension, an adjustable LED headlight and a rear brake light. Two side storage boxes and a USB socket are included, and the frame carries a three-year warranty. The one thing to check is weight. At 125 kg, its limit is the joint lowest in the range.

All-Terrain Scooters

All-terrain scooters are built for rougher ground. Bigger tyres and suspension take them onto park paths, gravel and compacted sand. There are three in stock, and they differ most in how easily they travel.

The Equinox Nomad is the easiest of the three to transport. It splits into five parts without tools, with the heaviest at 26 kg. Taken apart, it fits most SUV and large saloon boots. It carries users up to 150 kg and covers 38 km, or 50 km with the larger battery. The seat reclines, swivels and adjusts to suit you.

The Equinox Grande, at AED 22,990, has the highest weight rating in the range, at 210 kg. It reaches 15 km/h and up to 50 km per charge. It rides on 13-inch puncture-proof tyres with adjustable suspension. A swivel pilot seat, seat belt, key ignition and Bluetooth speaker come as standard.

The Baja Wrangler 2 rides on 14.5-inch pneumatic tyres with front and rear suspension. It reaches 12.9 km/h and covers up to 48 km, with larger 100Ah batteries available. A hydraulic hand brake, an anti-rollback system and a backup sensor are all fitted. Ask the team to confirm its weight limit.

Transport is the trade-off with this group. The Grande weighs 135 kg in one piece, and the Baja’s heaviest piece is 99.25 kg. You’ll need a vehicle ramp, tie-down points or a trailer. The Grande also isn’t meant for deep sand, mud or extreme off-road use.

Ranges are the maximum on a full charge. Real-world range varies with user weight and terrain, so leave yourself some margin.

Travel, Folding or All-terrain?

All three are motorised scooters, but they suit different routines. A travel scooter comes apart into pieces, so it fits in a car boot and goes back together on arrival. A folding scooter does a similar job in one movement, with no assembly. An all-terrain scooter trades some portability for bigger tyres, suspension and more range.

Start with the type that fits your routine. If the scooter will live in a car boot, look at travel or folding first. If you spend long days outdoors on rougher paths, start with all-terrain. Then check the weight limit, which is a firm limit on any motorised scooter.

After that, think about range and lifting. Plan around your longest ordinary day, not your average one. Then picture who will lift the scooter into the car, and how often. The Equinox Travel, LX and Go-Go Elite Traveller all keep their heaviest piece between 15 and 16 kg.
